What is HCTC?

The Colorado Homeless Contribution Tax Credit provides a state income tax credit to Colorado taxpayers who contribute to eligible homeless-related projects within Colorado.

Created by Colorado House Bill 2022 - 1083 (HB22-1083), HCTC replaces the Enterprise Zone Tax Credit previously available for donations to approved homeless support organizations.

How Does it Work?

**You must be a Colorado Taxpayer to receive HCTC tax credit!**

There are two ways you can receive a 25% tax credit by contributing towards the Inn Between.

1. By making monetary/cash contributions of $100 or more, including monthly or cumulative contributions that add up to $100 or more by the end of the year. See examples below for qualifying HCTC contributions.

  • Ex. You make a one time donation of $100. This can be entered into HCTC system immediately.

  • Ex. You donate $20 per month. The total amount ($240) can be entered into HCTC system as one sum at the end of the calendar year. *All contributions must be entered by 12/31.

  • Ex. You donate $5 per month. This cannot be entered into the HCTC system because the total amount of your contributions does not meet the $100 minimum.

2. By making a in-kind contribution valuing $5,000 or more.

  • Must be evaluated by a third party on date of donation.

  • In-kind donations valuing less that $5,000 do not qualify for HCTC tax credit.

  • In-kind contributions include property, services, stocks, bonds, or other intangible property.
